Amazon's stock rose thanks to Prime Day

By switching to Amazon. The week began at 251 per share. Wow, it continues to rise, with an increase of over 4% this week to reach 262. There isn't much news from Amazon , although they have confirmed laying off around 1,000 employees from management positions, something we always see before the earnings announcement.

In fact, we haven't seen much of this, which makes me think that most of these companies probably have the right size staff, because we usually see this two or three weeks before earnings are announced.

These companies close their accounts, then begin laying off employees. Amazon did this with only 1,000 employees, which is not a large number at the management level. The company unveiled new Alexa tablets with access to the Google Play Store, and also revealed new Ring smart locks that operate with a manual backup system, which is something I definitely want in such electronic locks.

I think the other thing we 've seen with Amazon, which I believe is one of the reasons for the stock's rise, is when we get to OpenAI and Anthropic, which we'll talk about shortly, these companies are directing more and more traffic through Amazon.

This is turning into one of the largest vendors of prototypes through their Bedrock platform on AWS. Amazon stands in the middle there, clearly hosting the model, clearly having relationships with customers, and earning fees whether they use the OpenAI or Anthropic model.

I think people will realize in the long run that Amazon's business model is very strong when it comes to artificial intelligence.

Constellation Energy, a publicly traded company ( CEG), signed a deal with Amazon last week and a major nuclear deal this week with Google, as the company enters into 20-year power purchase agreements with the tech giants.

However, it turned out that the $20 billion was actually going to companies like Microsoft and Amazon through Bedrock and their cloud computing platforms . So, I think this clearly demonstrates the transformation we are witnessing.

Large companies , and I think this shift is likely to continue to accelerate. Companies will experiment with OpenAI and Anthropic's APIs, but will end up purchasing the services in the long run via AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

That's why I'm optimistic about these three cloud platforms.

Amazon, a great move away from the 200-day average. Congratulate yourself if you bought Amazon at the 200-day mark. That was the right time. Now you're on the rise, entering the holiday season.

The company will announce its profits in, wow , just 20 days. That would be exciting .
