Those stocks initially jumped after the release of their results. This may be related to share buybacks, but what are your impressions and thoughts about its quarterly results ?

Yes, I agree with that. I mean, we did see an initial upswing here, but the company has cautioned about inflation costs , especially when looking at logistics, which is a concern for them as well as consumer resilience.

Now, the company has announced revenues of $50.02 billion. This exceeded analysts' expectations of $48.7 billion. Adjusted earnings per share amounted to $3.70 . The market was expecting $3.63 here.

Revenue growth increased by approximately 2.9% year-on-year, but the operating cash flow for the automotive sector grew by 33%. The adjusted free cash flow for the automotive sector also grew by 40% year-on-year here.

As for their future guidance, they have narrowed the scope of guidance regarding operating profit (EBIT) for fiscal year 2026, and this narrowing, again, along with some cautionary tone from leadership about an environment that may be challenging for them, particularly when looking at logistics, energy, tariff costs and other things like that .

That's why we see stocks falling by about 7.6%. But General Motors has actually done fairly well over the past two years, Diane. So you could also say that this stock may have risen too quickly , and is now in a correction phase with regard to pricing and valuation.

It is clear that some of the headwinds we talk about daily, they now seem to be warning that may be creeping into their businesses and affecting their profit margins.
