IonQ has a competitive advantage due to its use of existing data center architecture and significantly higher revenue compared to other quantum companies.
Jump to any passage
IonQ has a different technology than some other quantum companies. Essentially, what they are trying to do is make quantum computing possible within the existing data center architecture .
So, if you think about the way many of these other technologies hope to develop, they will require entire factories around their quantum computers , which will be different from the giant data centers that are already being built around the world that we spend a lot of time talking about, or that we spend a lot of time covering well in the program.
But IonQ is betting that it can do this within an infrastructure that may create fewer qubits and requires fractions of the number of qubits that other technologies hope to be able to create.
But they will do it in a place where it is actually more useful and can solve some problems, perhaps problems that have not been solved before.
You might even be able to get deliveries in 2027 and they don't need their own factory. I also pointed out that the revenue figures were higher, with revenues reaching 80 million for the second quarter.
The other four companies, however, did not even reach a combined revenue of 30 million. Therefore, it appears that it is indeed a major power, and perhaps possesses something akin to its own competitive advantage or leadership .
