MPC exhibits a strong long-term uptrend (higher highs/lows) due to refining differential exposure, resembling tech sector charts.

Chart number seven, Marathon Petroleum Company. In the energy sector, we have focused on energy companies in the refining and distribution stages. These are the names of the gas stations: MPC Marathon, VLO Valero, and PSX Philips 66.
These three charts look completely different from the rest of the energy sector. Many energy stocks are clearly linked to the price of crude oil. Crude oil has declined here in the past two weeks, and as a result, those energy stocks haven't been particularly strong.
However, energy companies in these final stages are less connected to the price of crude oil and more connected to the refining differential, which essentially represents the cost of refining the oil and delivering it to you at the gas station.
For this reason, these charts have taken on much more positive long-term patterns. It almost looks like a technology company. If I hid the arrow symbol and asked you about the sector, you might guess that it was the technology sector.
You might guess that it's a graph that looks like "Crowd Strike". They look very similar. But this is an MBC stock. It is actually the name of a gas station in a fundamentally upward trend characterized by higher highs and higher lows.
Such graphs, I consider innocent until proven otherwise. Long and strong, it points upwards towards the right.
