$NICE

NICE is undervalued with significant upside (DCF fair value $188 vs price $116), but investment conviction is low due to deteriorating margins and ROIC.

Trading symbol NICE, the company " NICE", is expanding its business and growing its revenues at mid-to-high single-digit rates through its field expansion strategy. AI bookings are increasing , and so is the volume of backlogged work they have.

But does this stock look like a buying opportunity at current market prices? This is the question I want to answer in this video by combining the company’s most recent performance and revenue forecasts with its long-term performance and earnings trajectory, and comparing that with its valuation to determine whether it makes an attractive investment.

Over the past decade, NICE has increased its revenue from $1 billion to over $3 billion, tripling in that period.

Management expects revenues to reach $3.5 billion by 2028. According to Wall Street analysts who follow NICE, or "Nice", I don't know exactly how to pronounce it, you tell me.

They believe that management's forecast of revenues reaching $3.8 billion in 2030 is a bit conservative. Wall Street analysts actually expect revenue to reach $3.9 billion by 2028.

Revenue growth is expected to accelerate over the next few years . In 2025, business grew by 7.7%, and is projected to grow by 8.3% in 2026, 9% in 2027, and 11.8% in 2028.

So, revenues are accelerating, management is optimistic, and Wall Street analysts are actually more optimistic than management. The first warning sign that comes to mind when I look at the company's cash flow from operations to sales ratio.

Between 2023 and 2025, the company increased its operating cash flow to sales ratio, rising from 20% to over 30%. However, this figure dropped to 20% between 2025 and 2026. Now, in recent months, it has reached a turning point and is rising again.

I am slightly concerned that the company's revenue is increasing, but its profit margins and the ratio of cash flow from operations to sales are decreasing. I see a similar trend in the company’s return on invested capital, which has fallen from about 15% to 10.8%.

This figure of 10.8% is below average and below the company's weighted average cost of capital . Between 2022 and 2026, the return on invested capital was increasing, but over the past decade, there has been no consistency in improving this metric.

So, these are the things I'm watching closely with regard to NICE. I monitor margins as revenues grow. Revenue growth rates in the mid-to- high single digits or low double digits are strong numbers, but I would like to see these numbers coupled with at least stable margins, meaning they remain steady or reach a tipping point towards higher levels.

Given these concerns about margins, I am not surprised that the valuation is considered relatively cheap. Based on the forward price-to-earnings ratio, the stock is trading at 9.1 .

Therefore, it is a relatively cheap stock for a company whose revenues are expected to grow over the next few years at a rate greater than its forward earnings multiple.

I have also updated my discounted cash flow valuation model , and I do not expect very strong growth for the company. In 2026, I estimate free cash flow will decline to 600 million, and from that point onward, it will rise to 990 million by 2030.

That's an increase of about 50% or slightly more in free cash flow over the next few years. Not a huge increase, especially considering that revenue growth is expected to be in the double digits over the next few years.

Despite relatively modest growth prospects, the stock still appears to be undervalued . I calculated a fair value of $188 using a discounted cash flow model, while the current market price is $116.

Therefore, I estimate a strong upside of 62% from here, given current market prices.

Regardless of whether I use a forward price-to-earnings multiple or a discounted cash flow model, this stock appears to be undervalued. So, to answer the question I posed in the title , do I think it's a buying opportunity? I will say yes.

However, I also say that I have a low conviction and a low level of confidence in this rating, and I have explained the reason, which is the margins. With revenue growth approaching double digits , I would have liked to see stable or at least increasing margins, but I am seeing the opposite.

Until I see that stability in the margins , I don't think I'll have a high level of confidence.

I will continue to monitor this company as one of the opportunities available, and we will see and hope that the margins improve or stabilize at this point.
