TSLA's Roadster is 9 years late, 11 years late to production; the 2028 target is doubtful and no deliveries before 2029 are expected; it may stay a test-track product and a marketing pitch for a Tesla-SpaceX merger. A merger is likely postponed if the share price stays stable, possible if TSLA rises or falls a lot.

Sure, we've heard a lot of promises about the Tesla Roadster and how it will arrive, what it will be like, when it will arrive. This promise has been made for nine years.
What does this mean for the stock? What does this mean for the company ? So, that's the main news. The Tesla Roadster event just ended. The Tesla Roadster is nine years late. And it will be 11 years late in going into production.
They also claimed that this will be the only car Tesla makes that is designed to be driven manually in the future.
I don't know how they're going to reduce the noise from these boosters. And that's a bit of a problem, because I do n't know how we're going to get it into production in 2028. Now, it's being said that the vehicle is capable of—and we saw in the demo, with the right timing— taking less than a second to accelerate from zero to 60 mph and possibly down to 0.81 seconds , which is truly remarkable.
Engineers say that the top speed of this car will be around 230 miles per hour. Elon Musk has said he wants to take it up to Mach 5, which is 382 miles per hour. I do n't know if that will happen, but it sounds great.
So, the big thing is that in my opinion , no one will get delivery of it before 2029. They say production will start in 2028 , but we know how deadlines work historically. Historically they haven't been very fast with their deadlines. We, you know, have a 9- year delay , right?
It started when I had a child. In 2021, Elon, it was supposed to come in 2020. This was the first promised year of delivery. Then it was delayed by 12 to 18 months due to Covid.
It is taken from 2021 to 23, and moves from 23 to 24. Then they said it would ship in 2025. In 2025 they said they would show the biggest demo at the end of the year. Then they set a demo date for April Fools' Day 2026, which ended up being an April Fool's Day.
Then on March 17th, they said hopefully next month, something great will come. Finally, as you know , we were informed that the event had been pushed back by about a month on the April 2026 earnings call.
Then we were supposed to have a show on October 1st , but it was postponed for two weeks due to weather. So, it went back about eight times , right?
So, I'm not very optimistic about the 2028 target, but that's their goal. I can't imagine how they would control the noise so that it doesn't damage the eardrums. You may need to wear headphones while in the car.
Remember, Elon said that this is going to be the only manually driven car Tesla makes in the future, which is really exciting. So, you know, if everything goes automated , there wo n't be any fun cars left to drive, right ?
I don't know how it gets a license to run on the road, but it's awesome. And I've seen many people activate this jet and blow up the cars behind them. So, we might need to put some kind of vision AI in the rear, which would prevent the car from starting if there's someone behind you.
I'm sure they can do that. We can now identify cars with cameras, so there is definitely a way to make it safer. However, they somehow made it clear that security is not a major issue here.
Interestingly, getting 11 out of 10 was their main priority.
So, it looks great, great car. Again , in the first demo, it took 60 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 60. They had a little mechanical glitch in the demo afterwards and nobody even started the timer , but later they came back and said, "Oh, actually it was 0.81 seconds."
"You know, I can see all the short sellers probably saying, "Hey, man, this is [ __ ]."
We were promised an event where we could buy a car, it would be like the iPhone , where you pre-order a month in advance and get it in your hands two months later. That's not really happening here .
I actually think it's nothing more than branding for the Tesla and SpaceX merger.
I said it in my video on August 14th. You can check it out if you want . On August 14th, I said twice that I believe this is an event to showcase what technology Tesla and SpaceX can achieve together.
And maybe the funny thing is, SpaceX has to raise about $400 billion for their AI initiative. And after raising just $40 billion, Broadcom and Oracle raised another $ 100 billion in the same week , which basically caused the market to collapse .
It's a lot more pressure and they have to raise 10 times that much money.
So, my actual words, which I wrote down , I said on August 14th, quote , "I actually think this is about a flying car and this is a marketing pitch about how SpaceX and Tesla can combine their technologies."
And one of their first words after coming on stage was, "This is what we can do with Tesla and SpaceX collaborating." This roadster, I don't know if it will ever be anything more than a test track product , although I feel bad saying so, at least for the foreseeable future.
This is a marketing pitch for a merger of the two companies, which is not too surprising because before this event, and it was a really impressive event, we were hearing rumors that the Tesla and SpaceX merger might happen much sooner than expected.
On August 14th, I said, quote , "You're not going to get a jet rocket-powered flying car for $250,000." I stand by that position, and I do n't want to say anything negative against it.
That's not the point here at all. The point is to show what a great technology this is. It's really amazing. And it actually gives you a glimpse of how small vehicles could land on Mars or the moon or get us safely into space and back.
That's what it is. It's a test track video or a test track product that's designed to show us the future. And that's why everything here is Back to the Future.
I think they can give us a hint of what's going on with Tesla and SpaceX. I would argue that Tesla And SpaceX wo n't merge unless one of their shares goes up a lot or the other goes down a lot.
In other words, my main point was pretty consistently that if the market stays stable, nothing will happen. I still kind of believe that . I believe that the fact that Tesla and SpaceX are stable means that it's very expensive and troublesome to merge them, because it would significantly reduce the value of the shares of one party.
So I think there are two or three scenarios here . If the share price stays stable, I think the merger will be postponed . I think if Tesla's share price goes up a lot , then a merger or some kind of acquisition could happen , it's not a big deal.
But if Tesla is acquired and the share price is way above any excitement or pressure , Elon can unlock his stock compensation at the acquisition price. Let's say Tesla's share price goes to $600, and then SpaceX comes in and says, "We'll pay $800 for it."
Elon would then be able to unlock stock compensation at the acquisition price instead of the publicly traded price of the shares. That's a strategy for Elon. So, it could be a strategy. I think that's a possible option.

That's a strategy for Elon. So, it could be a strategy. I think that's a possible option.
Another possible option is Tesla's share price going down. I'm not saying that's more likely, I'm just saying that another possible way for an acquisition is if Tesla's price goes down and SpaceX's price stabilizes or goes up, then it would be very cheap for SpaceX to buy Tesla .
And either way, I think everything would go under SpaceX so that Elon can have control. The main goal here is for Elon to have control . And since he has about 77 percent of the voting shares in SpaceX, that
So, whether you buy a Tesla or SpaceX, in the end you should know that you are actually 'Elon Incorporated'. Buying. Self-driving, great, it's the best technology in the world.
Will the Roadster end up being a flop where no one will buy it because it's going to blow your eardrums or it's just going to be good for the track ? Maybe. But, cybercabs are great.
Do you know how much edge training we've done on them? We do n't, do we? The next catalyst is to figure out how quickly we can get to a new city from the edge training of the cybercab .
And so I want to know, when these cybercabs are in Florida, Seattle or Houston How long does it take from start to finish? I like to get things done quickly . And the faster we can get things done, the better for Tesla stock.
You know, a lot of things are going through a rough patch in the market right now . Another benefit of Tesla and SpaceX combining is that it probably provides easy liquidity in a key area of money-making, which is the development of artificial intelligence .
Whether it's getting people on the platform through Grok, or getting X to use the Gentex service.
Terafabs will be a joint venture between SpaceX and Tesla. Let's be realistic about it. In that case, there's manufacturing on one side and jets on the other. And I support that . I'm very excited about that.
