this is no longer just a race for graphics (GPU). AMD and Western Digital.
On the Western Digital front, artificial intelligence is not just facing a computing problem, is it? We are talking about the data economy. Of course, this will only continue, which means that storage may be an undervalued component of the ecosystem.
This represents a strong incentive for Western Digital, and in my opinion, it already exists. It is gaining more and more exposure to the demand for large-scale cloud AI storage.
So, the more data we have, the more it has to be found somewhere, and that's where Western Digital comes in .
OpenAI's under-expected annual revenue of around $20 billion has affected many names , including Western Digital. That was one of the companies that got involved in that story.
Western Digital, which rose to nearly $800, I looked into that because I was looking at some of those names that have been under pressure this week. The AMD I mentioned is gaining market share in Western Digital, and there are some concerns related to that. Will we slow down or grow?
As for Western Digital, I don't think it's necessarily unique to them. It really comes down to looking at the memory space in general. This is definitely a sector that will grow significantly.
I estimate that Western Digital owns about 12%, depending on how you estimate the market.
