“These Stocks Fell Out of Favor. Now They’re Turning Higher”
XLRE faces headwinds from rising rates due to borrowing needs; technicals show a downtrend below the 200-day SMA.

Also, for XLRE stock, when looking at the utilities, REITs and some other high-yield sectors in an increasing interest rate environment, they will not be as attractive as they once were, especially REITs, because they need to borrow money to expand.

As you can see, the group is below the 200-day simple moving average, which clearly indicates a downward trend.

“The Sector Rotation Just Changed. Here’s What’s Leading”
XLRE is an underperforming sector with a negative outlook, as it has failed to break higher for over two months and is likely to decline.

And then we have XLRE, real estate, that is now clearly an underperformer. Look at that rotation. It's even hooked backwards, which means that rotation was really fast. If you would show this on a daily chart, you would see a very rapid rotation through all four quadrants, moving back into the lagging quadrant.

That has happened in a couple of weeks here for real estate. So, that's really a negative outlook for the real estate sector right now.
