AMD is a compelling five-year-plus AI opportunity: it can capture more AI demand without Nvidia failing, helped by server CPUs, GPUs and Helios. Though not cheap after a 180% 12-month rise and ~25% last month, expected earnings doubling leaves a PEG below 1. Owns it; expects $1,000 by 2027; would add on declines.

The first stock is Advanced Micro Devices, known by the trading symbol AMD. I believe AMD is one of the most interesting companies and opportunities in the entire AI industry over the next five years and beyond, because Nvidia is the dominant player in the AI processor market .
There is no doubt about that. The AI computing market could grow so large that AMD could become a much bigger company once it captures a significant share of the additional demand.
AMD does not need Nvidia to fail in order to increase its market share. This is why I believe AMD deserves serious consideration on your list. They have graphics processing units (GPUs).
They dominate the central processing unit ( CPU) market. They have networking software and the full-scale hardware-capacity "Helios" computing platform to compete with companies like Nvidia.
As you can see, the stock among the " tech giants" on your right, and at the top of the list, is AMD.
Now turning to Investing Pro, we see that AMD shares have risen by an astonishing 180% over the past 12 months, and the company briefly touched a market capitalization exceeding $1 trillion.
But it is now settling at a slightly lower level . Over the next five years, this is a company that I believe is capable of reaching a trillion-dollar market capitalization, and will easily reach a price of $1,000 per share by 2027.
Again, this is not financial advice, and I am not saying that this stock is a cheap deal right now. The stock has seen a significant rise, especially recently, having climbed by about 25% in the last month alone.
Here's a look at analysts' estimates for the next few years. Earnings are expected to double again next year, and looking ahead to 2027, the stock is currently trading at a forward price-to-earnings ratio of 38.7 times.
Looking at the surface, the stock isn't cheap based on that alone. But when we bring the growth factor into the equation, from that perspective, the stock has a price-to-earnings-to-growth (PEG) ratio well below one, which is very interesting to me.
Again, this is a stock that I own in my portfolio. Therefore, I don't have to rush into buying , but if there is any price decline, I will look to increase my investments. Here is my thesis that makes me optimistic about AMD over the next five years and beyond.
I expect the artificial intelligence market to become significantly more competitive . Companies like Microsoft, Meta, Amazon, and other giant cloud service providers will not want to rely exclusively on a single provider.
This creates an opportunity for companies like AMD. But AMD does not need to replace Nvidia, as I mentioned earlier. It just needs to become a reliable and scalable alternative in a market that continues to grow.
Another opportunity that is sometimes overlooked is the central processing units (CPUs) of servers. Not every workload requires a graphics processing unit (GPU ) for artificial intelligence.
Traditional central processing units (CPUs) still play a crucial role in running cloud infrastructure and supporting artificial intelligence systems. AMD's strong activity in the field of central processing units provides another way to participate in the growth of data centers.
This is certainly a name like " AMD" where we want to be patient rather than jump right in because of the movement they've seen in the last month alone.
Ultimately, and to varying degrees, all five companies depend on the continued demand for artificial intelligence infrastructure . Therefore, owning all five stocks does not automatically mean that you have diversified investments.
But before I answer, yes , I own all five shares. I will look forward to building larger centers in these five names.
AMD presents a compelling opportunity to gain a foothold in the field of artificial intelligence computing .
