AMZN is a long-term buy; it benefits from AI via AWS growth, stable e-commerce, and proprietary chips.

The stock I would buy for a thousand dollars right now is Amazon. I think Amazon is a stock that will last a very long time. It is one of those companies that can benefit with or without artificial intelligence.
I mean, artificial intelligence gives it many different ways to grow. Infrastructure work can continue to add up, and we'll take a quick look at those numbers. The way customers shop will change completely thanks to artificial intelligence, and Amazon has a very large storefront to be able to sell to these customers.
The technology behind it is becoming more advanced day by day.
So, if we take a quick look at Amazon’s financial engine in the last quarter, the second quarter of 2026, revenues reached $200 billion. Yes, $200 billion, an increase of 20% year-on-year.
Right now, the sector I follow the most is the AWS sector because I love it so much. AWS revenues reached approximately $42 billion, an increase of approximately 37% year-over-year.
AWS's operating income reached $16.6 billion. Although AWS accounts for only about 21% of sales, it contributes about 60% of operating income. For me, this is why I pay so much attention to AI infrastructure at AWS.
It already generates a significant portion of Amazon's operating profits, and I believe this growth will continue to accelerate and improve as the AI wave continues to evolve.
For me, the excitement of Amazon is that it has a business that I wouldn't describe as boring, but on the e-commerce side, I don't see much disruption happening there. We see this aspect growing stronger with sales worldwide and locally.
Now, artificial intelligence solutions continue to grow. As we record this episode today, we saw that Amazon announced an increase in the prices of its graphics processing units (GPUs).
It's not just the newer graphics processing units that are affected, but the older ones too, right? Those units are likely to have already been fully paid for by Amazon. Therefore, with the current wave of artificial intelligence, having computing capabilities has become a huge source of cash flow.
Although we as investors are now seeing that free cash flow is decreasing, this is because they are spending more money to build more and more AI data centers. But those older data centers are already generating positive free cash flow for them.
The administration reported that there was approximately $496 billion, yes, half a trillion dollars in the AWS order book. This represents the future work that we can expect to see in the next few years.
As we continue to see AI innovations, I'm sure you're keeping up with it, aren't you? We have new solutions from OpenAI, and we have new solutions from Anthropic. As these solutions continue to grow, companies continue to implement artificial intelligence within their business models.
These model companies need more computing power, and I expect we will continue to see sequential growth in the order book for the foreseeable future.
The opportunity becomes interesting when you continue to see how they have built the infrastructure for their AI chips, doesn't it? They not only buy Nvidia chips, but they also design their own chips.
Amazon has spoken in the past about how, if their business were based on designing and selling chips, they would be a multi-billion dollar company based on typical market valuations.
Amazon has its own CPUs, its own networking solutions, and its own AI chips, and they have stated that the annual growth rate for AI and chips is expected to exceed approximately $25 billion, right?
The price-to-earnings and price-to-sales ratios of many of these companies often exceed 10 in the semiconductor sector. So, you're talking about a $200 to $300 billion business there.
So, for me, Amazon is a winner that will not be negatively affected by artificial intelligence, but rather a company that can benefit greatly from it, and a company I feel comfortable keeping for a very long time.
