ASML beat earnings and narrowed guidance; supply cannot fully meet demand projected through 2028 — attractive story — and the speaker said ASML was primed for a reversal. But shares fell after the beat, options too illiquid to trade, and near term it doesn't look great, may pull back more, and wouldn't be chased.

Stocks in focus for today are ASML Holding was 1.52% higher in pre-market trading on Wednesday after it reported thirdarter 2026 earnings of $14.88 on revenue of $13.42 billion compared with estimates of $1247 and $13.18 billion respectively.
ASML, are you guys checking that out? By the way, ASML is trading It's only down trading eight for $1,700 stock to be at 1708. That is like a that's like a nothing move.
ASML is the stock that's down 32 points. We're not talking about ASMR. Talking about ASML. What's the news? ASML um beat ASML holding narrows sales guidance. Okay. guides fourth quarter net sales to 14.2 billion with gross margin on seized net sales.
So did they beat on earnings? Shares are trading lower as okay that fell yesterday. We want today. So, it was a beat.
Remember when we came on it was only trading down like five points. Now, it's dropped another 20.
ASML has Monopoly like Apple gapping their highs.
What do you think about uh ASML off? You know what? I'm surprised it's not down further. Um, I was just looking I'm going to bring it up over here. I was just looking at that chart here from a a technical standpoint.
Um, you know, I I I wish this thing had flushed out down to like 1600ish or so, which is the 200 day moving average, which would be a massive buy. Um, boy, I mean, I this is holding up in the face of what some of the other stocks are doing here.
I think this is what's been an earnings play. Now earnings are out. It was trading when we started the show at eight. It was only trading down a couple points. Now it dropped another 20 points which doesn't really matter for but could this be like a meta?
Could this be one where we get that earnings reversal goes positive, get a 30 point move?
Tot absolutely. Absolutely. I mean, this this chart that you're looking at, especially if you look over the last six months, you know, maybe there's a little bit lower lows, lower highs, but boy, this has been a buy any selloff at any time.
And you know, we're trend traders, right? We we follow a trend. So, I'm going to look at this and I'm not just going to close my eyes and say, "Okay, I'm going to buy it here."
But this to me looks like a perfect opportunity for one of those reverses.
And by the way, just to go complete hindsight and, you know, like a gray sports almanac, if we want to look back on it, the expected move on this was $85. How about that? And it's it's right now only 30.
So, if you would have gone to the 20 delta on either side of this trade, um we could have gone 1,600 for 750 and we could have gone um we could have gone like$,780 for wow for Oh my god.
You you sell an iron condor, you know, at those levels, you could have collected $30, no problem on this. you are just cleaning up because um you know we're going to see that massive massive V crush right away here. Um so you're you're just cleaning up.
You know I'm looking at this report in ASML and said that their supply is not going to fully meet demand. So maybe that's why the stock is off a little bit but maybe that's a good thing overall.
Right. Isn't that a good thing overall for for the industry here that that the projection of demand is so robust? And this is not just for 2026. They're going out all the way to 2028 on on what they said.
So I uh I I think ASML, you know, is primed for a reversal here. All right. We're gonna we're gonna list this as a morning candidate. Now, this is one where you got to be okay with the riskreward.
Like, because honestly, what's going to happen is it opens, the options will be gapped out, then maybe you could grab something like above, 1700. Like, the the 1700s were trading, they closed between 40.
Actually, they're kind of illquid. I think they closed between 47 and 60. So, let's say you you could grab it at um let's say like it opens down and after earnings you could grab them for like $15 and you buy one.
So, you're risking 1,500. That would be the minimum buy in there. So, you could probably go higher if you want, but like if you get that move, you could probably make three, four grand if you get the move, but also you could just lose the 1500 when it takes a 30 point gap drop lower and you realize your crush for the day. though.
Yeah, I I actually think in if someone wanted to get really aggressive, but but also completely risk defined here. Yeah, I think someone could go in and sell a downside put spread and buy an upside call spread.
So, so you have almost a you know, structure it how you want. You can do it for a credit. You could do it for zero dollars. If you're using it as a spread, you know what your risk is, right?
your your risk is completely limited to what that spread is. But that's going to give you the potential of if we get a big reversal here to really really you know knock it out of the park with and I'm not one to trade for home runs.
I never have been but it's completely risk defined. So you know you could when when market opens here I you know right now we're where are we 1680 that just bounced off the bottom here.
Let's say it opened right here. You know, you could probably sell like the 1650 1640 put spread by the 1720 1730 call spread or so. You know, somewhere right around zero. Maybe even get a credit for that, right?
Your risk is 10 bucks. If if the stock falls out of bed, your risk is 10 bucks,
Yeah. So, you do that, you're risking 1620 to make 1380 at the current, but it's going to change. Yeah. Well, it's it's just something, you know, I wouldn't do it naked. I wouldn't sell a put, buy a call naked on that.
Um then then, you know, your risk is is out of the world down to zero. But you can do it with spreads and um you know the way the market is is acting these days with these big reversals uh like you have said it that would not surprise me at all.
Um real interesting that that the stock just and I know it's pre-market so it's you know a little bit illquid not right now even though it's trading pretty heavy. Pretty pretty interesting that it just bounced off that kind of 1665ish level.
So that's something I would watch for when the markets open in in a few minutes is that level there.
ASML trading lower into the open. That's the one I'm going to look at for my metalike move.
ASML EU set to lift sanction Chinese firm to save ASML supplier.
Sandisk ASML down 3%.
I think ASML is the one I want to watch. It's been kind of fighting the tape all morning. And I'm just going to get it ready. And I'm going to hope right now that we that we get a selloff and that maybe these um these spreads tighten a little bit to let me in.
And if I could buy the 1,700 for my goal would be under 15 bucks. I don't know if I'm going to get that, but I I do think we can make a power move. And maybe the power move takes it to 1750.
So, I I think if there's a way to make money. Um the 10point wide gap on the options is going to be too big. And it they're just going to bring it right up, which is kind of frustrating.
I'm not going to chase. If they want to power it up to positivity right now, that's fine. I need one down move in these options. Uh, we'll see. I don't know if they're going to let me in. $10 wide contrast.
It's just you're just getting ripped off if you try.
You know, maybe what we could do is maybe we could sell the 16 40 and buy the 1630, you know. I don't know. I don't know if they're going to let us in. These options are just too wide.
Spread's too wide to get in. This was the right one. It did go from670 to,700.
Um, so if you're a stock trader, you could have bought it and made 30 points, but I don't know who's trading $1,700 worth of a stock. It's going to go positive. I'm not feeling bad, you know, in terms of missed opportunity because the options are $10 wide.
But like our eyes were in the right place. We're seeing the field, you know, we we saw the meta 35 point move. Our goal this morning was to find something that could go up 30 points pre-market.
We did it. ASML 30 points in one minute. 30 points in one minute. It was 1660 something. Hit 1700. We got a 30point move in one minute.
Maybe we should have just traded 10 shares of stock. Made 300 bucks. I don't know. But I'm not I was like I talked about it with Scott. Like my plan would have been to trade the options, but they were $10 wide on no volume.
Nobody's getting in. And yeah, to trade Blues Point getting out would be even worse.
Uh you know, but look at that. We you could tell this was such a now we got a 40point move in this stock guys.
This one this one this one would have been hard to get in. You know this one would have been hard to get in. Maybe I don't know. I just try to buy him at 1255 cuz I know it's going to just go here.
I just bought aund. I I couldn't help it. I bought one contract. I'm way overpaid for it. 1390 just cuz I wanted to trade it. I should have been more aggressive. But I'm like, I can't just sit here and watch this run even higher, you know, and it's negative.
But that I knew it was going to power up move through positive. We'll see what it does right here. Um, wow. That was a six point down move.
Let's see. I'm just guessing at this point 1715. Let's see if it goes through the positive one more time. Does. Yep, there it goes. positive on the day. See, it's just too illquid, too hard to trade. We'll see.
ASMount. Oh, there we go. One more wave up. One more wave up. There we go. There we go. Power through. Power through. Nope. Too hard to trade it. It is too hard to trade it. Where'd I get it? 1390. What a terrible price.
That's it. Was a nice front up the positive for the stock. Tell you that much. Let's see if I can get out this waste of a trade. It's just too illquid. You need liquidity in these things to trade them, you know.
But it does move. It does move. moving. That's all we could ask for. Something that moves, but I want out. Let me get out. All right. ASML was just a terrible idea because the options won't let you out, which is what you thought.
Oh, I sold ASML. Um, and instantly regret that. Instantly regret that. 40 bucks. Watch how bad that's going to be. Sold it for 1430. Could have just made another 200. I didn't want to trade it anymore.
That's fine. I'm not trading this again. It's going to go to 18. It's going to go to 1,800 right now. And I probably would have made $8,000 holding this. But whatever, right?
Maybe there's a cheaper option. Maybe there's a cheaper option. Just can't get into them. Um Let's see. This really is the only thing moving.
All right. Now I have the 1790 call. So if this makes a move up now, I'm more comfortable with this. Okay. And I got it a little bit better price this time. So, we're happy.
Um, this one I'm just trying to beat. flatten. you know, the goal is to find something that can move 50 or 100 points if we're trading one of these bigger names.
but I would like to see this ASML power up right now. All right. Yeah, we got in at 10 bucks on the 1790s. That's very far out of the money, by the way, considering it's trading at 1725. But, you know, these earnings events are wild.
ASML. What's a 52 week? 52 week is 1999. Imagine it starts to make a move back there. That would be exciting. I mean, it was 1869 October 5th. So, you know, this could go anywhere for sure.
I'm comfortable being in it knowing the most I could lose is $1,000. you know that I'm okay with because I do think if it moves and I was willing to hold it, I can make $45,000 in an hour. You know, that's the riskreward.
Probably not going to. I wouldn't follow me into this trade. We already hit 1733. I love the way it's just just moving all over the place. Just trying to guess which side it moves to.
ASML coming off. No good negative on the day now.
ASML back down to 712. No bueno. That means no good for those of you who don't speak Spanish. What are you guys watching? What are you watching? I do like the story in ASML. You know, the whole idea that that they can't meet supply. It's an attractive story.
But between these two stocks, between Mic Ground and ASML, I think one of them can make a good push. Trading a $900 stock and a $1,700 stock. That's the beauty of options, right?
Well, we did our job. We called one um we called one big move correct and asked them out. We just couldn't trade it because the options weren't there. We need the liquid options.
All right. And there goes Micron for the loss. That was fun. Okay, nice $1,000 loss on the day these two stocks. No fun. See if we can hang on and make a comeback.
ASML does seem like it's at an inflection point. We'll see if that could come back up.
All right. Trying to get more ASML. Got it. All right. We'll see. Now we're really in it. What we got at? 920. I'm not going to be greedy with that. I'll set a price at 10. 160 bucks. 1020. Oh no.
ASML coming lower.
Oh, hold the phone. Hold the phone, guys. My ASML trade just shows a sign of life. Those 920 buys are uh let's see see if I could sell something for a win today. I'll take a 1045 sale.
Nope. We'll see. Okay. Okay. ASML 1020. No. How about 10 bucks? Nope.
And uh and let's see, ASML and ALP. And as ASML, I mean, it's uh trying to pop up here today. I don't think it looks particularly great at the moment. So, I'm not so sure it gets ripping.
It looks like it's going to pull back more. So, I don't know if I'd be chasing that right there at the moment, Tess.
