This is due to the shares of UNH and Goldman Sachs. Both rise after the earnings results are announced .

Let's move on to the giant "Goldman Sachs ". Their shares are currently rising in pre-market trading. The CEO says: "In a complex operating environment , clients continue to turn to Goldman Sachs."

They added: "Despite the current complexity and uncertainty in the world, we remain well-positioned to continue delivering results for our clients."

Wall Street seems to be impressed with this performance. Yes, this is correct. Record earnings per share , $17.01 against just over $13 expected. That was a 30% advantage in the final results.

Revenues reached 18.68 billion compared to the 16.71 billion that was expected. That was an improvement of approximately 12% . Investment banking fees , $3.22 billion. Equity revenues rose 72% year-on-year to $6.44 billion. That was a strong performance.

It is worth noting that CEO Solomon stated that revenues from currency, interest, commodities and credit trading may decline. It decreased by about 1% year-on-year, reaching $3.47 billion.

So, the decline wasn't as big as Wall Street had probably predicted. The key result was strong earnings per share and exceeding revenue expectations, supported by $9.91 billion in combined equity and fixed income revenue.

Looking at the revenues from banking services and global markets, we find that they amounted to $13.46 billion. This is higher than the $11.8 billion that was expected. As I mentioned, stocks were the most prominent element that significantly exceeded expectations.

Assets under management reached $4.1 trillion, which is roughly in line with estimates. The expenses currently reflect the higher transaction costs and compensation rates at this stage.

Consulting revenues came in hundreds of millions of dollars higher than expected, and investment banking revenues reached $3.23 billion. This is higher than the expected figure of $2.86 billion.

So, the results were better than expected across the board at Goldman Sachs. I am not surprised to see the company's stock rise . Remember that this stock was in a bear market area , Diane.

It has fallen by 23% from its recent record highs over the past two months . Expectations may have been a little low for Goldman Sachs, but it delivered strong results across the board .
