NFLX's mixed quarter had an EPS beat and in-line revenue, but free cash flow and Q4/FY guidance missed; layoffs pressure margin and sales growth is slowing for a fourth straight quarter. Possible international price hikes and advertising expansion could add revenue if discussed on the call, though demand is weak.

But, we also have news coming from Netflix. I would like to speak to SpaceX quickly to let you know the situation. They are now in a positive position. However, that is not the case with Netflix. They are now down 3.3 percent.
EPS is at 87 cents. This is about 5 cents better than expected. Revenue came in at 12.87 billion. This is exactly in line with the consensus forecast. Free cash flow for the third quarter came in at 2.88 billion.
It failed to surpass the estimate of $3.22 billion.
In terms of their guidance, their revenue forecast for the fourth quarter of 313.44 billion did not meet expectations. More than 13.5 billion was expected. Which indicates a forecast of slowing sales growth for the fourth consecutive quarter.
EPS ( earnings per share) forecasts were also not met. They predicted 67 cents. The estimate was 73 cents.
Operating income is forecast at $3.5 billion, which missed the estimate of $3.72 billion. The operating margin is forecast at 26%. The estimate was more than 27.5 percent, which includes an impact of about 120 basis points due to staff layoffs.
Netflix also lowered its fiscal year revenue forecast to $ 51.1 billion from a previous range of $51 to $51.4 billion, and it lowered its fiscal year free cash flow forecast to about $12 billion from $12.5 billion.
Both of these forecasts were lower than the consensus forecast.
And as a result, we are seeing the share price drop by about 3%. Kevin, what are your initial impressions of Netflix? They no longer disclose subscriber numbers, so we look at the metrics a little differently now.
I think that's all their calculations and maybe that's how they're trying to portray it, and that's why we're seeing some uptick in share prices from this low. The margin forecast is naturally lower than market expectations.
The reason for this is staff numbers, but there is also a positive side to this, and something that they have probably been sitting on for a little while , is that they are going to increase their advertising levels and expand them into some countries where they already have some presence.
So, they can raise prices at any time. Right now , the international market is quite large in terms of their user base, but they have not yet taken steps to increase prices for that customer group.
Typically, the price impact comes from the United States and Canada. So, if you start hearing this kind of conversation on conference calls , it will be an immediate way through which they can generate revenue from their business relatively quickly.
And we have seen this in the past. They just have to do it in terms of international business , and we've seen that when they implement these kinds of price increases on those customers , the customer retention rate is still relatively high in the United States or North American part.
Even after raising rates here, they have retained about 92% of their customers.
They need to use this strategy a little more. Unfortunately, there is not much demand , so they are choosing the cost route. They're going to stretch some tires in terms of international business , and let's see if the market really values this company after the conference call, because the conference call is undoubtedly going to be a big deal.
But, when they start talking about increasing rates for their customers, it will be an overall positive thing for them. And right now, Netflix's share price has fallen by 3.5% due to a mixed report.
Their revenue was expected. They have also exceeded expectations in terms of their EPS.
