Finally, I would like to point out that Micron announced its results after the market closed. From what I 've seen, the company has exceeded earnings and revenue expectations, but the stock is still down about $7 in after-hours trading, less than 1%, which is a slight decrease.
I recommend monitoring the 20-day moving average in case of any weakness. Let's see if it holds, because we recently saw a breakout in Micron's stock performance , and I hope this rise in the 20-day moving average continues .
Steve, you excited for Micron? >> Super excited for Micron. And I feel like we're in a situation where Nvidia had to validate the hyperscalers. Broadcom had to validate Nvidia. Now Micron has to validate everything.
And I think we hear more of everything from Micron today. Micron, given the nature of the the the sort of poster child it is for pick and shovels, I agree with you, Tanner. They've got to show these LTAs.
They've got to show that there's a ceiling or a floor to to what their margins look like over the next couple years. got to show there's a real long-term trajectory because it I I I still can't figure out why Micron is discounted this heavily against other semiconductor names that have worse margins, worse growth, and are just as cyclical.
As we also know, MU just reported after hours and so far it's somewhat of a nothing burger. They have a conference call coming. We're going to cover that chart here in a little bit.
As we know, as I touched on, we've got Micron that reported after hours. That is a big stock in the stock market and one that has been extremely bullish this year. So, a lot of investors were wanting to at least potentially trim, make sure that they stay on the right side of the trade in case Micron does report and investors pull the rug.
So far, from what I've seen was before I started the show, that hasn't happened, but that still could be a situation.
Micron, if Micron's earnings report comes out after the market closes. I am here. I ca n't see it right now, but we'll discuss it tomorrow. That will be the most interesting thing when the income report comes out.
Um, if you want to or hold or keep an eye on it , whatever. So, I really like it.
the big move in the Nasdaq will be driven by Micron's earnings tonight after the close. In fact, the market has just closed. We will be watching Micron closely right here to see what it does .
I've opened the Micron chart and we'll open the sidebar to see if there's any crazy movement. Oh, it's dropped. This is not good. Not good.
Okay, let's get straight to it. We have achieved a significant improvement in earnings per share . Earnings per share reached $33.42 in the fourth quarter, better than the expected $31.83.
Looking at the revenue for this quarter , we also saw a significant outperformance of approximately $54.23, while expectations were around $51.5. Gross profit margins also came in better than expected at 87%. While expectations were at 86%.
Micron is preparing to announce its quarterly results after the close of trading today. Here are the current projections: Wall Street is expecting adjusted earnings of $3,155 per share, which is up from the previous quarter and significantly higher than the same period last year.
Before we get into Micron's earnings tonight, let's take a look at the current state of the memory market . How would you describe the current supply and demand environment, and what is driving the strong performance we are seeing in these companies?
Well, the best I can say is that the stock is gone. The order books are almost full. There is high demand. I think that giant cloud computing companies are ordering huge quantities of these products, putting memory alongside chips, and doing so in every data center in America, as well as globally.
last comment I'll make, Micron. Um I obviously will be paying very very close attention to that. I expect them to have you know a blowout report. Now we'll see how the market reacts to that.
As always Dale mentioned you'll always be cautious in earnings because they can have great numbers but if the market's disappointed the stock sells off but I expect them to be like we can't make enough memory. we're backed up for years and years and years because all of these hardware plays that I've been talking about, you know, all year are buying everything we have.
We're back with " Morning Trade Live" to take a look at Micron 's annual chart , which will announce its quarterly results after the market closes today.
The company's shares have risen by more than 500% year-on-year. What an amazing performance. We have retreated from the high summer levels, as we can see here, but we are clearly approaching them again with renewed interest in some semiconductor stocks.
I agree. I will now move on to my choice, which is a stock that has also seen a remarkable rise over the past twelve months, and perhaps even over the past two years, and that is Micron stock.
Micron Technologies is valued at approximately $1.1 to $1.2 trillion, depending on when you watch this video, as the stock price fluctuates a lot.
Micron is still quite strong compared to its sector group and the SMH Semiconductor ETF. Meanwhile, Micron is in the red here, having grown 536% in the past year. So, this is a very strong performance.
So, when we look at the micron more specifically , we see a wedge shape forming here. Both of our boundary lines are pointing upwards , but they are moving towards each other as we head towards the earnings report.
Um, but again, with Micron earnings after the bell, we'll have to watch and see what happens.
Lastly, Micron. Micron looks to be opening slightly higher today. Today it will report earnings after the bell. This is probably the biggest earnings report we've had in weeks at this point.
Um because it's a trillion dollar company now and it's Micron. Everyone knows Micron. Upside. If we rally on earnings, there's a gap fill at 1150. That would be major resistance.
On the downside, I'd be watching this trend line. Look at this beautiful ascending trend line just below a,000. So those are that's resistance and the one below is support. Those will be in the after hours levels that I'm toning in on now.
I want to talk about Micron, but before that, you had several of the heads of these companies in a meeting with President Trump.
Let's talk about Micron. It has profits on the horizon. I know we are waiting for the personal consumption expenditures report, but this is the most important event we are waiting for in terms of earnings. What do you expect?
we have micron after the close tonight which is going to be important you know is there a rebalance between tech that was stronger and and the banks and the small caps that have been weaker you know and um will we get some new flows as the indust are kind of hanging by a thread.
Finally, Micron Day, don't be so overly aggressive cuz you know you sometimes you get let down if you've been waiting and waiting and waiting. You know what I'm saying? Uh so we'll see.
Historically, Micron has been tricky. Like pretty damn tricky. You know, if it's priced in or not. So you have to figure out how you want to play it.
Are you optimistic or pessimistic about Micron's earnings? We will take a look at the expected move tomorrow, because they will announce their results tomorrow, and that is exciting.
We will be looking at the MU index, but given the approaching earnings announcement date , we will also take a look at the SPX index.
I want to know your opinion on Micron right now, moving away from this conversation, because it will be the next big test and it's the one that concludes the earnings season, isn't it? What will they say?
Look, we've been really bullish on Micron ever since its stock was below $100. This course is ongoing. We have $14 trillion in cumulative capital expenditure for AI data centers from now until 2030.
I think you will see revenue outperformance, and profit outperformance that will exceed $31.
Now, what would create the semis and tech to go higher this week? Well, guys, look no further than tomorrow's earnings report with Micron. That is what I anticipate that could move the needle if we have a a robust report, which I anticipate to to occur. It's just how good is the guidance going to be.
But what about one of the most popular companies in the field of artificial intelligence today? It is Micron, a company with a market capitalization of $1.2 trillion. It's hard to look at Micron's charts without being extremely impressed by what's happening in its business.
Let's take a look at operating profit. As you can see, revenue has increased significantly, but what followed? Operating profit and gross profit. This is because the company simply raises prices.
It does not increase the quantity of products it produces, nor the quantity of memory it produces, nor does it increase its costs, but rather it adds this money to its net profits.
MU's income statement is coming out this week. This is going to be a great result. Guidance would also be great. There is no question about this. We all know that story, right?
I'm talking about Micron, SanDisk, Nvidia, and even the great AMD.
